I'll stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
